  1. Developing a Repository for a Social Work Dept. at Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street Jane Burns Research Network Ireland Teach Meet – October 25, 2013

  2. A bit about CUH Temple Street Caring for sick children over 140 years….

  3. The Problem – Where to begin? • Social Work Dept. conducting/participating in research in a specialist area. • Not sure what they had • 50% paper based • Wanted to centralise repository, easy to search • Hold own research and reference to related others • NO MONEY

  4. Some solutions – Help is at hand • Identified free resource that could be used throughout the hospital and remotely – Zotero • Gave my time to Project Manage at no charge • Recruited 4 LIS volunteers • Inventory/Scoping/and Searching • In house classification scheme • File naming convention • Trained Staff • Developed User Manual

  5. Post implementation • Check in regularly with Social Work Dept. to see how things are progressing/issues • Fully functional and operational • Recruited another volunteer to work another phase of development • Stand alone but can be integrated if organisation wide repository is developed.
