Written Expression. Sentence Frame. Every sentence starts with a capitol letter and ends with a stop sign. ( . ! ?). Subject. The subject names the person, place, or thing that the whole sentence is about. Predicate (Verb). The action of the sentence is called the predicate.

  2. Sentence Frame • Every sentence starts with a capitol letter and ends with a stop sign. ( . ! ?)

  3. Subject • The subject names the person, place, or thing that the whole sentence is about.

  4. Predicate(Verb) • The action of the sentence is called the predicate.

  5. Bare Bone Sentence • A bare bone sentence is one that has a subject and a predicate, but no meat.

  6. Predicate Expander • This expands the predicate by answering how, when, where, or why. • This is where the 4 come from in the predicate symbol. Why Where When How

  7. Connector • The connector is used to connect single words, parts of word, and sentences. (and, or, but)

  8. Subject Describers(Adjectives) • Subject describers are words that describe the subject.

  9. Substitute Namers(Pronouns) • These are words that substitute for the name of the subject.

  10. Bound Predicate(Helping Verb) • These words have very meaning of their own; they need a completer to equal a complete thought.
