Christian Influence on Early Irish Society and Culture

Early Christian Ireland experienced a significant transformation with the arrival of Christianity brought by St. Patrick. Monasteries became key institutions where monks led a self-sufficient lifestyle, engaging in various tasks like farming, writing manuscripts, and crafting intricate objects. Irish monks ventured abroad as missionaries, leaving a lasting impact on art, culture, and religious practices. This period marked a flourishing of learning and art, earning Ireland the title "Land of Saints and Scholars."
