  3. What is theCareer Services Center? To assist Lubar undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni with internship, job and career exploration activities.

  4. An international career can be . . . • A job that exists in a country that is not your home country. • A job that is in your home country, but you work with colleagues, clients or customers from other countries. • A job that is with a global company.

  5. What Employers Want (a former Recruiter’s perspective) • Global mind-set • Culturally sensitive • Able to understand the bigger picture • Open minded • Willingness to take chances • Adaptable to change • Willing to relocate and/or have already moved

  6. What can you do to standout? • International Business Certificate • Study Abroad • Bi or multi lingual • Business Minor • Take BUS 300 Career and Professional Development • Demonstrate your adaptability • Join cultural organizations • Tutor ESL students • Sell how UWM is diverse. i.e. International Provost

  7. The interview • Integrate examples of your studies, skills, interests, and/or experiences that show your value in working with a global employer • Don’t oversell if the job has nothing to do with the global part of their business.
