What we offer1.1 Development of key competences The value of key competences for PhD students: Tailor-made training offers • support you during the research and writing process (academic competences) • improve your chances on the job market (occupational competences) • help you to develop your personal strengths (personal competences) • create opportunities to network and broaden your horizon (social competences)

  6. 1. What we offer1.1 Development of key competences Key competences are developed through a range of courses, workshops and networking opportunities. PhD students can choose from: • language courses • workshops on effective presentations, successful participation in discussions and the appropriate use of multi-media • training sessions on effective goal setting, time and project management and leadership courses • workshops on entrepreneurship and personal marketing strategies • opportunities to network with other PhD students in an informal and supportive atmosphere

What we offer1.1 Development of key competences In order to make use of any of these training opportunities: • Inform yourself about the training offers through: • Our newsletter (sent to all for whom we have contact details) • Our website • Apply to make use of the training offers through StudIP (Prerequisite: you have to be registered with ZePrOs) • Requirement: ”2 SWS“ in total - this equals two or three training offers depending on the workload • Certificate of participation

What we offer1.2 Establishing contact with regional employers The value of contact with partners from the private and public sector: • Get to know our co-operation partners from the private and public sector, in order to: • enhance your career opportunities • develop occupational competences • Requirement: Contact with at least one employer during the 3-year program

What we offer1.2 Establishing contact with regional employers What does the co-operation entail? • A tailor-made opportunity to gain insight into a company, taking your individual needs, the nature of your research project and time constraints into account • Example: Business Mentoring • Practical training in a specific division of a company • ZePrOs acts as networking agent

  11. 1. What we offer1.3 Individualconsultations Comprehensive and individual consultations about your PhD • One obligatory consultation session for PhD students registered with ZePrOs per year • More sessions possible, if required

The value of a doctoral network: An active network of PhD students, supported by ZePrOs: provides you with the opportunity to learn and get support from peers constitutes an established interest group whose needs can be voiced and addressed in a focused way supports cooperation among PhD students ∑ An infrastructure for a doctoral program 1.
