The effects on the environment A report by National WindWatch suggests that wind turbines can drive animals away such as birds and bats due to the 24 hour noise, lighting and construction of the turbine. Do you want to live in a Forest of Dean without animals and wildlife? The impact on the value of your house Residents who live near wind turbines complain of noise, shadow flicker and in some cases ill health because of them. Would you want to buy a home near one? Who would buy yours if the planning application is successful and you want to move in the future? Reports on YouTube show some families have had to leave their home as a result. See YouTube for more details. Spoiling the beauty of the forest The plans are to build a turbine at Poolway Farm. It will be approx 90m tall, nearly 5 times the height of the clock tower, in close proximity to residential areas. It will be the view for many people including those using the Hospice.
