  2. What is the Problem? • Many injuries are due to lack of hazard recognition & control • Preventable injuries are re-occurring • PJHA’s are not being completed properly • Forced PJHA’s get pencil-whipped by some

  3. PJHA Acceptance Barriers: • Technicians struggle with forms • With forms you analyze the job, not the task.. • Seen as a compliance tool only • Doesn’t work at home or on the farm

  4. W.H.A.T does an Injury Free Safety Culture look like? W.H.A.T.

  5. W.H.A.T. may be the solution • W.H.A.T is a pre-task planning thought process • No forms, No paper, No writing • Take 10 seconds to think about the acronym for each routine task • Commitment over compliance at it’s best!

  6. What is W.H.A.T.? • Worst. What are the worst case scenario’s that could occur while performing this task? • Hazards. Associated with doing this task? • Actions. I need to take to do this task safely? • Tools. What are the tools I need to complete this task safely? Simple!

  7. W.H.A.T • If the job the has many complicated tasks, use any piece of plain paper or a PJHA • The what logo is easy – W.H.A.T will keep me safe • While doing an observation, ask them if they used the W.H.A.T. process, and if they did, check the area for PJHA/WHAT W.H.A.T.
