The European Environment Agency (EEA) has introduced several new datasets for biodiversity monitoring, showcased at the October 2013 conference in Copenhagen. Key updates include the release of Nationally Designated Areas (CDDA) version 11, updated Natura 2000 data from 2012, a detailed EU coastline map for analytical purposes, and a digital surface model (EU-DEM). Additionally, the 2014 CDDA data collection now includes marine fields for better reporting under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). Ongoing projects focus on ensuring CDDA compliance with INSPIRE specifications and updating EUNIS habitat classifications.
