Statistics • New murder record set in the Bahamas in 2011 at 96 • Illegal weapons are the number one cause of death • 351 illegal weapons were taken off the streets so far along with 6224 live rounds of ammunition (2012) • The most frequent crimes committed include murder, armed robbery, arson, and kidnapping.

  4. Gone Too Soon NASSAU, Bahamas - On Wednesday 15th February, 2012 around 10:30 pm a male was found unresponsive in the trunk of a dark green Honda vehicle at Sir Milo Butler, Highway. Police have identified the victim as 23 year old AKYTO SAMUEL SMITH of FAITH GARDENS off CARMICHAEL ROAD.
