  2. Developer Objectives • Roundtable committee members will be able to: • Use the Six Steps of Planning to plan roundtable meetings • Explain and demonstrate the Six Steps of Planning to other adult leaders for planning roundtable individual programs.

  3. Six Steps of Planning

  4. Define the Task • Analyze the learner or audience • Who are they? • What training do they require? • “How to” • “FYI”

  5. Define the Task • State the objectives • Audience • Behavior • Conditions • Degree

  6. Identify Resources • Select media and materials • Computer & projector • Overhead projector • Felt board or posters • Samples

  7. Identify Resources • Media and materials should match your learner • Use variety, but don’t overwhelm the learner

  8. Consider Alternatives • Re-define the task and resources • Have a contingency plan

  9. Create the Plan • Re-define the task and resources • Utilize media and materials

  10. Work the Plan • State your objectives • Tell them what you’re going to tell them • Tell them what you want to tell them • Tell them what you told them • Require learner participation • Retention increases with active participation

  11. Evaluate • Evaluate and Revise • Did the instructor accomplish the objectives? • Did the learner gain a skill or knowledge?
