DEFINITION • L’amibiase est définie comme l’état dans lequel l’organisme humain héberge Entamoeba histolytica avec ou sans manifestations cliniques. • On distingue : 1 - des formes asymptomatiques : amibiase-infection 2 - des formes symptomatiques : amibiase-maladie 2.1 - de localisation intestinale au niveau du colon 2.2 - de localisation extra-intestinale, essentiellement au niveau du foie et des poumons.

AMIBIASE PLEURO-PULMONAIRE • Secondaire à une amibiase hépatique (le couple hépato-pulmonaire) soit par propagation trans-phrénique en plèvre libre ou en plèvre symphysée, soit par propagation vasculaire. • Quatre aspects radiocliniques  :- les pneumopathies amibiennes non abcédées - les abcès du poumon, - les pleurésies amibiennes, - les fistules hépato-bronchiques.

  23. DIAGNOSTIC DE L'AMIBIASE • Immunofluorescence indirecte : réaction positive en cas d'amibiase hépatique

  24. PROPHYLAXIE DE L'AMIBIASE • Pas de chimioprophylaxie • Pas de vaccin • Lutte contre le réservoir de parasites : l'homme infecté • Lutte contre la transmission : les recommandations d'hygiène élémentaire
