  6. STEPS FOR GETTING A WIKI(For Teachers that did not attend workshop on 8/17/11) • Click on http://intouch.saisd.net/itech/mod/book/view.php?id=1526&chapterid=104&edit=0

  7. STEP 1: Collect Proper Documentation • Collect the signed Web Publication Parent Permission Form (F26-B) (English version| Spanish version) from every student that will contribute to your Wiki and keep them on file in your classroom.

  8. STEP 2: Complete the Wiki For Beginners Course • Login to ePath and search for the next offering of Wiki for Beginners course.On the ePath homepage:Type in the keyword 'wiki' (without the quotes) into the Search for Classes area; then click the 'Search for Classes' button. A list of available classes will show in the 'Upcoming Classes' area. • Register for and complete the course. Be sure to complete the evaluation in order to receive credit for your course. Remember this required course -- which enables you to earn 1 hour of CPE credit at your own pace -- will help you get off to a great start with your new Wiki workspace!

  9. STEP 3: Receive your Wiki Workspace • Upon completion of the course, you will receive an email stating how to access and log into your Wiki. • If you did not attend the training, please contact the instructional technology department for further instruction on setting up your wiki.

What is a WIKI? • A wiki is a great way for teachers to: • Share final publication of student work • Share information about a class with parents/community • Share information about a club, program, and or organization • Host links to Moodle Courses • Share embedded videos, podcasts, websites and other resources Workshop Overview This hands on workshop will introduce participants to PB Works WIKI. Participants will learn how to add text images, embedded videos, and other resources.

  11. Workshop Objectives • In this workshop, you will: • Review examples of PBworks used in SAISD's educational settings and identify the educational value of a web page. • Browse PBWorks and become familiar with editing and publishing. • Create PBworks pages.

  14. Setting Up Your Wiki • Log into Outlook and find the email from ITLS • Find your User Name and Password • Go to www.MightyEagles.net • Click on Faculty link in the navigation bar • Click on your last name to open your wiki • Log in

  15. Follow me • Edit • Input text • Save • Edit • Save Image • Upload Image • Insert Image Tip: You can create it in Microsoft Word then copy and paste your information into the Wiki.
