Bell Schedules D – Pass in Review At 1230 for entire School; occasionally will be used for things like sports rallies E – Assembly Schedule Period 2 Middle School in Assembly while HS in period 2l then they switch F – Finals schedule (100 min) both ends of semesters 1/2, 3/6, 7/8, 4/5 G – Extended formation PIR practice; Advisory A – normal days (49 min classes; Periods 4/5 are Lunch SSR in period 3 Nearly all schedules B – Thursdays as Late start days; 38 min classes C – noon Dismissal, all Classes 25 min

BUGLE CALLS AND BELLS • 0740 FIRST CALL • 0744 ASSEMBLY • 0745 FIRST SERGEANT’S CALL (tardy to formation at last note) • 0747 ATTENTION • 0747:30 REVEILLE • 0802 SHIPS BELLS TO END FORMATION (AND ALL CLASSES) • 0805 SCHOOL BELL (CLASSES END WITH SHIPS BELL) • 1:30 INTO PASSING PERIODS FOR PERS 4/5 MESS CALL • CHIME 15 MIN INTO LUNCH TO MARK START OF PLAY

  6. MORE BUGLE CALLS AND BELLS • One min before end of 8th period the CHIME rings • End of 8th is ASSEMBLY again • 3 min later FIRST SERGEANT’S CALL (indicates tardy to formation at last note) • 1530 ATTENTION • 1530:20 RETREAT (Ends at 1531 exactly)

DAILY SCHEDULE PAGES • HOMEWORK (written each period each day, even in double blocks and if no HW) • Detention assigned/served • Academic Support assigned, work to do, they showed up, work accomplished (see next slide) • Saturday school assigned, work to do, they showed up, work accomplished • Hall passes • Demerits recorded • Notes to/from parents

PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT OF DAILY PLANNER PAGES… • Students record when things are DUE and… • Break down larger assignments into small parts that are also recorded on the planner pages • Students record when DOCUMENTS are due and to remind them to get documents signed or completed • Students check these planner pages in the am before they leave home to remind them of stuff they need to bring (forms, assignments, etc) • Students check these planner pages when they return home to PLAN their afternoons/evenings/weekends

Academic Support (per 0/9) andSaturday School • TAC Teams will stamp on the assigned days in the planners at the beginning of each quarter FOR THE ENTIRE QUARTER • Record specific work you want done if you are not the one teaching AS • Record that they attended so both student and parent know they showed up; note if they are late or uncooperative • Record what they accomplished • Stamps say “Academic Support Assigned” (TAC Teams have these) • Teachers can order stamps that say “Saturday School at 0730 for _____. Be on time!”

DEMERIT RECORDING • EVERY TIME they earn a demerit in your classroom, it should be written in the planner. • It is MANDATORY for any PERMANENT (2 point or greater demerits, and STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for all one pointers too) • STAMP SAYS: ____demerit(s) assigned by ____ for ___ • All staff can order a stamp on the “stamp order” form

  12. DETENTION • Thursdays before school • TAC NCOs supervise • Stamps that say DETENTION MUST BE SERVED ___ HRS • Stamps that say DETENTION SERVED

  13. HALL PASSES • Any time they leave the classroom • Managed by class leaders, not by you • One pass at a time so no more than one kid out (unless a small group is going somewhere for a special reason) • Bathroom pass • Lunch time visits to your classroom or LRC • Appointments made with counseling staff, TAC staff, or admin staff • TWO entries per trip – one going and one coming
