WHY SIMON COMMISSION?? • Mass protests and rallies by Muslims and Hindus. • Rejection of the reforms by Simon Commission. • To restore the relationship with the Indians. • To reform the law of 1919. • To offer the Indians AUTONOMY!!

Nehru Report (1928) Motilal Nehru  drafted  a report  called Nehru Report (1928) • Demanded for the rights of Hindus only and not the Indians. • Demanded for the self government of Hindus. • Demanded for the India as a federation. • Demanded for the legislative councils to be Indian dominated. Jawarlal Nehru the son of Motilal Nehru was the Secretary for this report. • Muslims rejected this report  it did not ask for the rights of Muslims. • It dominated the political scenario. • It rejected the idea of Muslims as partners in the demand for independence.
