The Parasitic Nature of Money: Artistic Reflections on Wealth and Poverty

This project explores the complex relationship between money, art, and societal issues, particularly poverty in Hong Kong. By using mold to grow on banknotes, the artwork symbolizes how money can control and manipulate our lives, turning us into its hosts. Through the lens of Ithaca Hours, we question the viability of alternative currencies in a prosperous society and reflect on our motivations regarding wealth. This ongoing art piece aims to provoke thought about the value of money and its impact on our living standards and mental well-being.
