  1. Ways to Prepare for SAT SAT or Scholastic Aptitude Test is one of two standardized college admission or entrance test in the United States. It is a multiple-choice test created and administered by the College Board, a non-profit organisation. The examination has three parts: math, evidence-based reading and writing and an optional essay although some colleges insist on having the essay test. It is three hours long, an additional fifty minutes for the essay. Now that we have the basic concept clear let us discuss some ways to prepare for the SATs. Now let us discuss how to prepare for SAT exams at home: ➢Start early to be ahead: Choose a date far enough in advance than the time you think you need to prepare. Having extra time in hand is always better than not having enough time and thus cramming. You must try not to waste time mugging up unnecessary things. Only study the things that are required and important. However, if you have enough time in hand a little extra knowledge never hurt anybody. There will also be passages from humanities but whatever information you will need to make an assessment will be provided in the paragraph itself. In fact, there will be passages from Science as well, but again, your answers will be judged on your interpretation and analysis of them. ➢Consistency is the key: Set a daily SAT Study planwell in advance and stick to it. Your plan should include 5-7 practice SAT sets. Taking mock tests are mandatory, be it online or offline. Take a practice SAT test and chop off 5 minutes from the stipulated time. With every test try to increase the time you chop off. Work on fixing your problems rather than being disgruntled or discouraged. For the students who want to study for SAT in a month, they should be following a comprehensive set of rules, such as: ➢ Identify your target score: Your target score will be based on the colleges you are applying for and will, therefore, dictate how many hours a day you need to study. You first need to find out the average SAT scores in the colleges you have applied for. From there you will have to calculate your target score which will most likely get you into the colleges you have applied for. ➢ Identify your base score: Try to have a base score whichwill be your baseline from where you have to gradually move upwards towards your target score. Now make a study schedule based on the difference between your target and base score. The difference between the two will dictate how long you have to study every day. ➢Collect study materials: If you want to study for SAT Online, there are a plethora of websites to study from. Khan Academy, a partner website of the College Board offers a comprehensive set of tutorial videos and practise sets for free.
