  2. Begining • Caesar replaces troops killed by Ambiorix’s army

  3. Rebellion • The Treveri try to get the Belgi and Germans to fight Rome with them • In response, Caesar wages war earlier than planned

  4. Rebellion Cont. • Caesar destroys the Nervii • Attempts to make peace, but Senones, Carnutes, and Trevi don’t come • Marches to Senones

  5. End of the Rebellion • Acco (Senoni’s leader) asks for a pardon and gives hostages • Carnutes do the same • Caesar accepts this because doesn’t want to wage war

  6. Caesar and the Menappi • Caesar attacks the Menappi (Ambiorix’s allies) • Tells them not to help Ambiorix • Menappi agree and ask for peace

  7. The Trevii • Trevii plan to attack Labienus • Find out Labienus was sent reinforcements • Trevii wait • Labienus pretends to retreat, drawing the Trevii into a fight • Trevii flee into the woods

  8. Caesar leaves the Menappi • Decides to cross the Rhine, so Ambiorix won’t have anywhere to retreat • Also, as punishment because they were going to help the Trevvi

  9. Across the Rhine • Ubi apologive to Caesar (he accepts) • Ubi warn Caesar that: • Suevi are building forces • Suevi moved to more advantageous spot

  10. Recrossing the Rhine • Caesar decides not to follow • Recrosses the Rhine • Builds a tower near the Rhine to keep gaurd

  11. Continuing the search for Amborix • Caesar sends troops to find Amborix • Amborix is surprised, but still escapes

  12. Amborix and the Eburones • After escaping, Amborix warns Eborones to flee • Cativolcus (Eborones’ king) blames Amborix and commits suicide

  13. Preparing for War with Eburones • Sequi and Condrusi ask Caesar to be friendly • Caesar agrees • Caesar sends loot

  14. War (with Eburones) • Caesar sends: • Labinus near the ocean • Trebonius near the Aduatua • himself to the Sambre river • Asks everyone to meet back at Aducita in 7 days • People staying at Aducita cannot leave the camp • Hard to fight because all Eburones are scattered and hidden • Invites other tribes to help

  15. The Sigambri’s “help” • Sigambri answer Caesars invitation • Take lots of cattle • Get cocky • Decide to attack Roman’s loot at Aducituca

  16. Aducita • Cicero allows people to leave before 7 days for food • As soon as people leave, Sigambri attack • Camp is paniced, but eventually creates a defense • Sigambri are driven out

  17. Caesar’s Return to Aducituca • Caesar is angry Cicero disobeyed orders

  18. Back to Ambiorix • Caesar leaves to get Ambiorix • Ambiorix escapes... again. • Caesar devastates Ebuones’ land

  19. The Council • Caesar holds a council relating to the revolt early • Finds Acco (leader of Senoni) guilty • Sentences Acco to death
