  8. 2. Reflect On Shared Experience • When we are doing meditate on our own, it can be enticing to think that we are alone. • The human health, body, and mind is something we share. • Nowhere is this experiences more intimately than in the spotlight of awareness cultivated in the meditation.

  9. 3. Learn From Overcoming Obstacles • The obstacles are at the heart of learning something different. • In many ways, we can say that they are the process of learning itself the only choice being that we have already perfected that something new and therefore has nothing left to learn.

  10. It is very easy to forget this simple fact and to get frustrated when an obstacle occurs in our meditation. • But the arising of obstacles is itself the process of learning. • This is how the mind is trained, to cultivate the art of awareness.

Acknowledge The Benefit • Although we may sit alone for the meditate, the benefit is infinite. • If we are unhappy or confused, it has a real effect on the people around us. • How could it not? Hence it only makes the sense that when we feel happy, relaxed and peaceful in life, those same people should benefit.

  12. 5. Strengthen The Dedicated Focus • To become good at something, excellent at something, requires many things. • But most of all it requires dedication. • It needs us to show up, to engage and participate in the experience.

  16. Step 1. Be Aware Be Prepared • When you are aware, you are mentally strong to fight off the thoughts you don't want. • Negative thinking comes to everyone. • No one can escape the first trigger thought. • What matters most is what happens after it that one thought.

  17. You should not become anxious waiting for negativity to come, and it just means that when you are aware, you remember when that trigger thought happens and knock it out quickly. • The more aware you are, the quicker you grab hold of your mind and take back the control.

  18. Step 2. Name It • When you are lost in negativity, and feel yourself falling into deep feelings, stop the cycle by naming it. • Whether you whisper it or say it out loud, naming it causes a separation in your unconscious mind.

  19. That is enough to break that cycle. • The negative energy is strong, but you can be stronger. • Name it to stop the cycle.

  20. Step 3. Erase and Replace • It is a positive mantra that boots out negativity and makes room for positive thoughts to enter. • It helps to have a “replace” statement ready for use when you need it. • You may choose, “stop” or “no” or “go.” Chant it. Repeat it over and over again.

  25. 6. It’s Your Choice • Remember, here is your freedom of choice your chance to determine which path you want to take who you want to be with, what career you want to be in, and what you want to eat for dinner. • It’s up to you. You get to choose how long the negativity stays in your mind.
