  3. General Information about PLR

  4. PLR General Information • Reports are based on Attending Physician • Inpatient Physician Loyalty Reports represent the attending physician on the medical record. Depending on group practices physician data may vary. (Client can aggregate physician data to then analyze the data by group practices) • For example an individual physician’s discharges may look lower than expected if they are part of a group practice and their name does not always occur on the medical records.

  5. PLR General Information Cont’d • Outpatient reports are available, but only for surgeon • MS-DRG 795 is excluded • Operative Procedure Indicator equal to 1 (Operative Procedure) and 2 (Non-OR Procedure) are included in the reports (Excludes 0-Missing, 3-Minor)

  6. PLR General Information Cont’d • Physician must have been present at facility • To appear in the reports a physician must have at least one discharge in the time period(s) selected. • Other Hospitals’ Data is blinded • Other Hospitals will be identified as “Hosp 001”, “Hosp 002” (These are randomized so Hosp 001 will not be the same for all physicians).

  7. Familiar IDS Functionality • Physician Loyalty Reports can be run and customized similar to other IDS reports. • Apply saved filters (Or create new filters) • Apply geographic filters • Create and filter by service lines • UDF’s are currently not available in PLR

  8. What is Required to Gain Access to PLR

  9. Physician Data in the IDS • Currently all hospitals in Michigan are submitting physician and surgeon data in their 1400. • This data is generally in the form of a Physician ID that varies in length and format depending on hospital. • A physician roster makes it possible to match Physician IDs across hospitals.

  10. Physician Rosters • In order to match Physician ID’s already in the IDS, MHA uses a roster template. • This template is sent to hospitals and must be completed and entered into the system by MHA before that hospital can gain access to Physician Loyalty Reports.

  11. Regional Availability • Physician loyalty report availability is dependant on regional hospital participation. • For the most recent information contact IDS Support or view the Data Available report within IDS.

  12. Physician Loyalty ReportRoster Updates • You can currently check what facilities are submitting physician loyalty data within the IDS • This information can be retrieved in IDS under File>Data Available in the On-Line IDS by Hospital

  13. Facility Selection for Systems • Physician Loyalty Reports are an added feature for IDS with subscriptions based on individual hospitals. • If you have selected a facility that does not subscribe to PLR, you will see the following error when trying to run the reports.

  14. Facility Selection for Systems Cont’d • To resolve this issue you will need to go to File> Select Facilities and make sure any facilities not subscribing are deselected.

  15. Overview of Physician Loyalty Reports in IDS

  18. Physician Loyalty by Hospital • Two level report reporting by Physician or Surgeon and Hospital • Hospitals are blinded and randomized (Hospital 0001 for Michelle Henry is not necessarily the same Hospital 0001 for David Brown) *Demo Data

  19. Physician Loyalty by Hospital *Demo Data

  20. Missing Physicians Report • Reflects Physician IDs that were not listed on the roster • Can be a useful tool for keeping rosters up to date • Contact MHA with questions regarding Missing Physicians *Demo Data
