Role of government Protect private property Protected by fair legal system Passed through by the Legislative Council Their duty: enact, amend or repeal laws People can make best use of their resources to obtain profit e.g. lands sales People can receive compensation once their properties are resumed e.g. compensation for the villagers Ensure people can use their property as they like e.g. power and duties Investors are confidence to invest and more investments will be in HK Provide more job opportunities People become richer People have greater desire for shopping Promote economic development Higher living standard

Role of government Protect private property Protected by fair legal system Supervised by government officials: e.g. ICAC Fight the corruption in HK HK becomes one of the world’s least corrupt city Investors are confidence to invest and more investments will be in HK Provide more job opportunities People become richer People have greater desire for shopping Promote economic development Higher living standard
