The Canadian Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive Program (SRED or SR&ED) gives support in the form of tax credits and/or refunds. Alberta SRED program provides funding through its science and research expenditures grant program. Alberta SR&ED is managed by the Alberta Ministry of Finance and Enterprise.   2. Introduction Canadian Government is very focused on boosting research and development in the area of science and technology. This is the reason that makes Canada a great place to live. Canada also provides more tax incentive programs than in other countries.

  3. The tax incentives that the Canadian SRED program offers, has the lowest research and development cost of all the advanced economies countries. Both big and small businesses find it easier and affordable to administer R&D in Canada.

  4. March April May June The main aim behind the SRED tax credit program It is a tax program that provides tax credits for legal research and development in the field of science and technology. The Canadian government spends time, effort and money in promoting both Canada and research within the country.

  5. Eligibility Any corporation with permanent set-up in Alberta that is involved in SR&ED and qualified for federal SR&ED tax credit after December 31, 2008. It is refundable at 10% on up to $4 million in eligible expenditure. Please note that the definition of eligible expenditure was revised after December 31, 2012.
