  5. APG-BRAC Intersections • MD-715 / US Rt. 40 • Fully funded for all phases • Under construction • Under budget and ahead of schedule • Little concerns with traffic detour (excellent communication) • Ramp to open June / July 2013 • Intersection open for traffic Summer 2013

APG-BRAC Intersections • US 40 / MD 7 / MD 159 • Two phase project • Phase 1 (underway) = Two left turn lanes on Rt. 7 • Phase 2 = Widening US 40 to allow two additional lanes in each direction / updating phase one to include two left turns, one shared through lane, and one channelized right • ROW $1.06 million (funded) • Utilities $4 million (funded) • Cost $11 - $13 million

  12. New E-ZPass two-axle toll rates(effective July 1, 2013) • E-ZPass Maryland Hatem Memorial Bridge Plan: • $20.00 for unlimited trips annually • E-ZPass Maryland Standard Plan Rates (10% discount off the cash rate): • $7.20 (round trip) - Hatem Bridge and JFK Highway (I-95 Bridge)

  13. APG-CSSC Transportation Center • Support APG TDM efforts • Increase awareness of existing transit options • Serve as communications center for transit • Coordinate telework study • Promote alternatives to SOV travel • Collect data to support effort

Telework Study • Examine APG’s current telecommute policy and identify best practices among similar defense communities • Offer recommendations that APG could adopt in support of telework and TDM efforts • Awarded to Wells & Associates June 2013 • June 17, 2013: Study Kick-off with APG • November 2013: Final Recommendations delivered

APG-CSSC Transportation Center UPDATE • 3 MONTH MILESTONES: • Interacted with over 200 people • Provided and implemented solution for installation shuttle termination • Added 4 new vanpools (24 Total) • 27 new participants in the Army Mass Transportation Benefit program (March-April) • Participated in 8 events, including setting up in the lobby of JPEO-CBD • Published an article in the APG News and ARL newsletter • UPCOMING PROJECTS: • APG Commuter Day, Ripkin Stadium, Ironbirds game, July 12 and August 23 • APG Vanpool Day, August 2013 • Location-specific commuter mixers • Continuation of news articles • Continue to grow participation
