  2. SSADP • Duration 4 years starting middle February 2013 with a decision to continue after 2 years • Financed by Royal Netherlands Embassy • Implemented by Mott MacDonald

  3. Targets private sector in agri-business (AB) through 3 components Establishing and operating a guarantee fund Establishing Business Service Providers who will provide business support to AB Facilitating and financing AB expertise

  4. Guarantee fund • Provide partial guarantees to bank(s) for loans in AB • Banks are responsible for approval and for ensuring repayment of loan by their clients and will lose when client is defaulting • Loans (initially) $ 10.000-100.,000

  5. Business Service Provision • SSADP will train BSP (Consultants) • Consultants will be contractedby SSADP to train entrepreneurs • Business training will be modular and targeted at different stages of business formation and management. • Business coaching and assistance will be provided to entrepreneurs in such areas as: record keeping, marketing, warehousing, business planning including equity formation, HRD, procurement, and assistance with loan applications

  7. Target group: private sector • Agri businesses (suppliers, agro dealers, producers, processors, traders) • Whole agricultural sector • SMEs • Viable • > 5 employees • Equatorian states initially

Process of identification and selection of (potential) clients (PC) • Identifying and approaching entry points • Collecting names and contact data • Completing identification sheet by PC • Preliminary selection by AB team • Completion of specific questionnaires by BSS • Further selection by BSS • Monitoring by AB and BS team followed by Business Training and providing AB expertise
