HQ USAF A1SOC AF Child and Youth Programs • Air Force Teen Council (AFTC) History • Launched Summer 2010 • Response to a Youth of the Year issue: • Teens voice to AF Leadership • Mission Statement: Increase and improve communication • between AF Teens and AF leadership to enact change and • improve quality of life for AF youth and teens I n t e g r i t y - S e r v i c e - E x c e l l e n c e

HQ USAF A1SOC AF Child and Youth Programs • Air Force Teen Council (AFTC) Roles • Coordinate with AF Regional Teen Councils • Identify issues impacting military teens • Brief Senior Leaders on teen / family concerns • Participate at Caring for People (CFP) Forum • Lead sessions at Youth of the Year (YoY) and • Teen Leadership Camps (TLC) • Be a catalyst for AF Teen Movement Projects I n t e g r i t y - S e r v i c e - E x c e l l e n c e

HQ USAF A1SOC AF Child and Youth Programs • Air Force Teen Movement Projects • Teen Projects determined at Youth of the Year • Developed and voted on by teens • Top project(s) implemented Air Force-wide • Projects are designed to cultivate experiences in: • Post secondary education • Vocational experiences • Lifelong civic engagement • Leadership opportunities • Started with My Healthy Generation in 2011 • 3,200 youth participated; gained 350 new members I n t e g r i t y - S e r v i c e - E x c e l l e n c e

HQ USAF A1SOC AF Child and Youth Programs • Joint Services Teen Council (JSTC) • Comprised of youth from the Air Force, Army and Navy • Teen Councils • Met and identified the top 4 teen issues: • Increase Opportunities for Youth / Teens • Increase Youth / Teen Participation • Increase Awareness of School Liaison • Officers / School Resources • Increase Awareness and Marketing for • Youth Programs I n t e g r i t y - S e r v i c e - E x c e l l e n c e
