We are working with a wide range of partners to invest in effective sanitation approaches that will contribute to a world where children and families lead healthier, more productive lives. We invest in approaches that help end open defecation and unsafe sanitation in rural communities and help to develop the tools and technology that will allow the urban poor access to sustainable non-piped sanitation.
The vision of X is to be recognized and respected as an international organization whose members deliver sustainablesolutions to developing communities worldwide and make use of their diverse technical expertise to solve critical problems affecting the health of our planet.
X works to transform the delivery of safe water and sanitation through partnerships that catalyze financial support and innovation for sustainable solutions.
Since its foundation X has facilitated the sharing, promotion and use of knowledge so that governments, professionals and organisations can better support poor men, women and children in developing countries to obtain water and sanitation services they will use and maintain.

Our mission is to assist people in developing countries with access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education by offering sustainable solutions through advocacy, learning and collaborative programming.Vision – X seeks a world where everybody is able to use safe water, has access to basic sanitation and practices good hygiene.
Water for all water users: Water of sufficient quality and quantity is vital for all water users (energy producers, farmers and ranchers, fish and wildlife, manufacturers, recreationists, rural and urban dwellers); Managing water sustainably: Water resources management is crucial for providing tomorrow’s children with social and economic stability in a healthy and sustainable environment.; Personal responsibility for water resources: Awareness of and respect for water resources can encourage a personal, lifelong commitment of responsibility and positive community participation
Our purpose is to expand giving, promote everyday philanthropy, deepen civic engagement, and broaden the use of new technologies to make giving more informed, efficient, and effective. We seek to do this while emphasizing the value of collaboration across all sectors, individual and organizational leadership, and entrepreneurship.
The overall objective of X in the area of WASH is to contribute to the realization of children’s rights to survival and development through promotion of the sector and support to national programmes that increase equitable and sustainable access to, and use of, safe water and basic sanitation services, and promote improved hygiene.

Sustainable development means meeting the needs of today (food, shelter, employment, etc.) without compromising the ability of future generations from also meeting those same needs. We believe in the power of individuals, the private sector, local actors, governments and others to support the X leadership in conserving the wonders of the natural world toward promoting sustainable development. Our programs have helped local communities develop sustainablelivelihoods around some of our world's most treasured World Heritage sites.
To be an effective participant and partner in the UN Millennium Goal to bring safe and sustainable drinking water, effective sanitation, and health and hygiene education to the over 2 billion people around the world in need of these basic life systems.
X works to build a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation, and where no one suffers or dies from a water- or sanitation-related disease. We work with people and partners to develop innovative and long-lasting solutions to the water, sanitation, and hygiene problems in the developing world. We strive to continually improve, to experiment with promising new ideas, and to leverage resources to multiply our impact.
X’s mission is to achieve sustainable water supply, sanitation and hygiene for all people in the world.Achieving this mission would be nothing short of world-changing. For if it happened , it would mean that sanitation, hygiene and water supply coverage was universal. That would mean protecting and enhancing not only people’s health, but their dignity, environment, and their economic well being as well.
At X, our approach—to train, equip, and consult nationals—ensures that the energy and resources contributed by volunteers and donors result in sustainable, participatory water systems that meet the long-term needs of communities.
