The Class 1 Melt Equivalent Course is open to all Class 3Q drivers who have been inactive for two years. Those who have completed a previous MELT Class 1 course can qualify for the program. he minimum age for applying for the class 3Q license is 16. The maximum age to apply for the course is 18 years of age.

  4. All Information on Class 1 MELT experience and equivalency. A complete course in Experience and Equivalency Class 1 MELT consists of a number of different components that work together. Check out the post below for more information. The MELT program educates and trains commercial drivers in accordance with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's National Safety Code. This program consists of 113 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of hands-on training in a motor vehicle, among other things. The program includes both driving and safety training, which should result in a reduction in the number of accidents in the future.
