  1. Objective: Students will deconstruct (break into it’s parts) a 5 paragraph argumentative essay. Hot Q: How do I break apart the parts of an argumentative essay, paragraph by paragraph and how can this help me understand how to write a 5 paragraph argumentative essay?

Homework: Use the 5 paragraph graphic organizer and what you know about topic sentences, supporting details, and elaboration to construct a 5 paragraph response to the writing prompt you have been given. The project is due on Monday, December 10th. • Must have the graphic organizer filled in with your ideas. • Must have a rough draft showing editing for grammar, punctuation, complete sentences. • Must have a final either handwritten or double spaced typed on the computer. • Parents must review the paper and write a statement on the bottom stating “I read this essay on (put the date)” They must sign this statement and it must have a date.

  4. How to Determine the Parts of an Argumentative Essay Summer: 15 Days or 2 1/2 Months? The final bell rings. It’s the last day of school, and summer has finally come! Students don’t have to think about school for at least another 2 1/2 months. That is the way it should always be. Schools should continue using the traditional calendar and not a year-round schedule. There are numerous downsides to year-round schooling. It has no positive effects on education, it adds to costs, and it disrupts the long-awaited summer vacation.
