  2. How Earthquakes happens • Earthquakes happen when the plates move. Earthquakes can be form by divergent, convergent, and transform boundaries.

  3. Where earthquakes first start • Earthquakes first start at the focus and most effective by the epicenter. When shock waves go farther from the epicenter it has less power.

  4. Measuring earthquakes • Some earthquakes cannot be felt, and on the Richter scale it measure 1-2. Seismic waves are measured by the Richter scale. This is a picture of the Richter scale.

  5. There are many different earthquakes • There are a minor earthquakes, light earthquakes, moderate earthquakes, strong earth quakes, major earthquakes, and great earthquakes.

  6. Many earthquakes happen each day • About one hundred thousand earthquakes happened about each year. • A earthquake that we cannot feel and 8,000 happen each day.

  7. Earthquakes are really dangerous • Earthquakes may kill up to millions of people each year. • They leave many people homeless. • If earthquakes starts in the water they cause a tsunami. • They can damage miles away.
