  4. Supplies • Applicator bottle or brush and bowl method • Mock solution labeled “Virgin Tint” (gel or cholesterol only) • Duckbills or clamps • Combs • Towels • Pre-Sanitized implements in a dry sanitizer labeled “Pre-Sanitized Implements” Cosmetology I - Virgin Tint to Darken Application

  5. Supplies (continued) • Cape • Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitizer • Hospital grade EPA registered disinfectant solution in a spray bottle • Manikin • Manikin holder Cosmetology I - Virgin Tint to Darken Application

Steps to a Virgin Tint (To Darken) Application • Demonstrate disinfecting of work area • Student must disinfect work area before setting up area • Organize work area • Sanitize hands • Construct chemical drape • Demonstrate sectioning the hair into four uniform sections Cosmetology I - Virgin Tint to Darken Application

Steps to a Virgin Tint (To Darken) Mock Application • Demonstrate application of a virgin tint solution • Start at the most resistant area • Take ¼ in subsections • Apply tint from scalp through hair ends • Working in a clockwise manner until all the sections are completed • Identify when the desired shade is reached Cosmetology I - Virgin Tint to Darken Application

Virgin Tint (To Darken) Oral Presentation • Before this application, a forty-eight hour patch test is given to the patron. • If there is no reaction, continue with the application. • After observing all sanitation and safety precautions, section the hair into four (4) uniform sections. Virgin Tint (To Darken) Oral Presentation • Starting at the most resistant area, and taking ¼ inch subsections, apply tint from scalp through the hair ends, working in a clock-wise manner until all sections, are completed. • When the desired shade is reached, rinse with warm water, shampoo the hair with a non-strip shampoo and clean up area.
