  1. Using the MOUSE In this section you will learn to: • Click/Double-click to select. • Right-Click to open a menu • Click and Drag • Use a Scroll Wheel

  2. Mouse Mousepad Cursor Menu Scrollbar File Folder Icon Glossary

  3. Parts of The Mouse • Left-Click button • Scroll Wheel (optional) 3. Right-Click button 4. Hand Rest

  4. Left - Click The most commonly used button on the mouse is the left-click button, with it you can: • Select to perform an action {“click on….”} • Position Cursor • Click and Drag (move items) • We say “click” instead of “left-click” because it is implied and understood that they mean the same thing.

  5. Double - Click • A Double-click also uses the left button, though you need to click it twice in rapid succession while holding the mouse still. • We would do this to open a file or folder by clicking on it’s name or it’s icon.

  6. Right- Click The Right –Click button is used to open a menu. A Menu is a list of items to choose from. To select an item from the Menu, you would click.

  7. Click and Drag • To “Click and Drag” you click on an item (such as a cursor or scrollbar) and move it by holding down the left button and “dragging” the mouse across the Mousepad. “This work was created by Resource-MN.
