  6. Preliminary Engineering Schedule Boardman Watershed Community Committee

  7. Why select the creek alignment first? • The creek alignment and cross-section is needed to resolve the project’s purpose and need for: • Stream flow • Fish passage • Water quality • Stream habitat • Wildlife habitat • The bridge locations, roadway improvements, and construction staging are dependent on where the creek is located. 8. Why are the alternatives only “Conceptual”? • The detailed base mapping, the geotechnical report, and the hydraulic analysis are still being developed. • The project Design Criteria is under final review. • No coordination with environmental regulators has occurred to date. • There has been only limited constructability input. • The roadway and bridge optimization process is to occur after selection of the creek alignment. Boardman Watershed Community Committee

  9. Assessed 10+ Project Alternatives • Multiple creek alignments options: • north, south, and at the creek’s current location • Multiple Walta Vista Drive re-location options: • Northand south of the current location • Assessed alts that connected into LaurelwoodDr and Deswell St • Alts that minimized the number of bridges, property impacts, environmental impacts, and construction staging impacts • Show process Boardman Watershed Community Committee

  10. Overview of Feasible Alternatives • All feasible concepts require some form of property and/or easement acquisition. • Temporary project impacts vary between the alternatives. • Wildlife habitat enhancements opportunities vary between the alternatives. • Fish passage characteristics (i.e., creek velocities and dimensions) are similar for all concepts. 12. Concept Features: • Creek alignment similar to as-is condition • Maximizes habitat and restoration opportunities • No impact to existing driveway culvert Boardman Watershed Community Committee
