How to prepare your speeches Each person in the group needs to prepare their own speech (lasting roughly 2 mins) • Together, brainstorm all the points you want to make • Divide up the points among members of the group • Write your speech – try to be: • Engaging & persuasive • Accurate – use technical terms & ideas • Anticipate the things the opposing group are likely to say • Identify one question each to ask as a member of ‘the floor’.

This house believes that.. • The foetus has a fundamental right to life which should always be protected. • Abortion is an intrinsic evil which should never be allowed • The sanctity of the life of the foetus is always more important than the quality of that life. • It is immoral to force a woman to continue with a pregnancy she does not want
