Duties of Librarians • Serve as secretary to board • Prepare reports, budgets & other documents • Appoint staff • Select & purchase materials • Publish & enforce policies • Execute contracts and agreements • Keep accurate account of financial transactions • Carry out activities authorized by law & considered appropriate by board

  6. Key Steps in Data-Based Decision-Making • Possible data types: • Statistics • Input (needs assessment) • Testimony (expertise) • Stories (experience) • Feedback (evaluation: efficiencies/ cost-benefit analysis, customer satisfaction, outcomes)
