  1. Crewing Solutions During the last two years, we have continued to improve our live bidding PBS – SmartPref V.2, and it has received overwhelmingly positive crew response. We are still the only company providing real time interactive solutions. The easiest path to implementation of PBS. If others could do what we do, we wouldn’t be here. Realistic bidding methods improve expectations. We eliminated the bidding apprehension of the junior bidder as no one else has.

Number of Crew Estimated Batch Run Times (minutes) 750 55 500 40 350 32 300 30 150 12 How many servers are required? • SmartPref is built primarily in .net and requires only standard Windows servers. The number of servers required is essentially a function of the number of crewmembers and the desired “refresh” rate of the solution builds. In some simple installations it could even run on a single server.

  20. Server Requirements SmartPref server requirements are broken into two groups – servers that support the off-line batch processing runs and front-end application servers that support the crewmembers’ online interactions. For less than 750 crewmembers, one robust dual core Xeon server could process the front end and the batch processing, although it wouldn’t be the recommended solution.  Beyond that number, multiple nodes - virtual or physical can be used and would be advisable.

  21. Multiple Server Installation • Only standard Windows server services are necessary. You can install the batch-processing application and the GUI front-end as virtual machines or physical servers. • The likeliest scenario is setting up the Front-End on multiple nodes/servers for GUI interaction and installing the Application Batch Processing on a single server. Our existing administration tool can manage that scenario with minor manipulation of the connectivity IP settings.
