Conclusies • Stabiele bevolking en duurzaamheid; • Afname van bevolking creeert ruimte voor nieuwe stedelijke landbouw, parken en kwaliteit van leven; • Langer werken mogelijk door betere gezondheid; • Oudere werknemers hebben specifieke vaardigheden die nodig blijven; • Migratie creeert interessante en diverse maatschappijen. Integratie en educatie zijn vitaal; • Migratie biedt kansen.

Beleidsconclusies • Beleid en demografie zijn met elkaar verbonden; • In het meest positieve scenario groeit de Europese bevolking met zo’n 20%; • In het meest negatieve scenario blijft Europa’s bevolking stabiel op zo’n 500 miljoen; • Niet te beinvloeden: stijging van levensverwachting en zeer sterke vergrijzing; • Noodzaak om langer te blijven werken; • Door migratie neemt de netto welvaart toe.
