This song originates from Scotland and the text attempts to recreate a bit of the Scottish “brogue.” I found a bit more information about the song at: http://whenwesing.blogspot.com/2008/06/warsawwausauwha-saw.html In measures 7 and 15, there are variants that use the A and variants that use the D, so choose the one that you like best and enjoy. The closest version to this one that I found was in Liz Gilpatrick’sRounds Found and Remembered. Click on the audio to hear the text spoken.
