  1. CMC College-wide Faculty Professional Development Fund Guidelines for July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2009

  2. Eligibility • 1 year Full-time faculty experience or • Two-semesters as Part-time faculty within the last two years (not necessarily consecutive)

  3. Eligible Activities • Scholarly activities such as attending professional conferences, workshops, and seminars • College level coursework (excluding graduate tuition) that would not result in subsequent advances in the salary schedule.

  4. Funding • Approximately $40,000 per fiscal year • Awarded three times per year • First Period, April 15th Due Date: For events in July, August, September, and October • Second Period, September 15 Due Date: For events in November, December, January, and February • Third Period Due Date January 15th: For events in March, April, May, and June

  5. Dollars Available Per Person • A maximum of $1,500.00 will be awarded per person per fiscal year. • But a faculty member may submit a proposal (for less than $1500) in any and all funding periods. (Over the year, those totals are not to exceed $1500.)

  6. Committee Membership • One faculty representative elected/appointed per campus • One elected adjunct faculty member • One elected CFI member • One Academic Services support staff • Two year term

  7. Accountability •  Awardees present a summary of their experience within three months of the funded event so the benefit can be shared back and inspire colleagues across the college. • If accountability is not met, applicants will potentially forfeit their award or become ineligible for future funding opportunities.

  9. Important Process Information • Plan ahead (and even more so with out-of-country plans) • Contact campus rep as you begin to apply • They can help you successfully complete the app • Give yourself time to obtain the required signatures (committee rep, Campus VP/CEO’s) • Fax complete application • Keep a copy for your own records
