  2. Trick Scores • Clubs & Diamonds (minor) • 20 points • Heart & Spades (major) • 30 points • No Trumps • 1NT 40 points , other add 30 points each • 1NT = 40, 2NT = 70, 3NT = 100 • Game (needs atleast 100 points) • 3 NT, 4 Major or 5 Minor • Part game (less than 100 points)

  3. Part Game and Game Scores • Undoubled part game score • Trick score (inc over tricks) + 50 • Undoubled Not vulnerable game score • Trick score (inc over tricks) + 300 • Undoubled Vulnerable game score • Trick score (inc over tricks) + 500 • Thus try to go for a game where possible • Guidelines (Total Partnership points/trumps) • 3NT –25+ points, balanced hands • 4 Major – 25+ Points, 8 trumps • 5 Minor – 29+ Points, 9 trumps

  4. Example of ‘winning’ even when going down • Consider opponents are vulnerable and you are NOT vulnerable • They bid 4H, if they make it they get 620 • Instead you bid 5clubs you lose less than 620 points if you are • NVul, not doubled down by 12 (600 points to opponents) • Vul, not doubled down by 6 (600 points to opponents) • Nvul, doubled down by 3 (500 points to opponents) • Vul, doubled down by 2 (500 points to opponents) • For all of the above you have given away less points and you may force the opponents to next level bid!!!
