  1. This tutorial is designed to help you navigate The Citizens Council Website. It does not cover every item on the website but serves as a basic guide. Should you have ideas for the website or find problems as you “surf” our website email us at info@citizenscouncilsct.org Some basic instructions. To go to the next slide use the right arrow on your key board. To go back a slide use the left arrow and to stop the tutorial press your esc key. Introduction

  2. The Citizen CouncilWebsite

  3. This is the navigation bar. Basically it is a list of shortcuts to take you to website pages with in our site. This bar appears on every one of our website pages.

  4. Click on the words Board Members and you will be taken to the Board Member Page.

  5. If, for example, you were to click on Steve Johnson’s name The page would change and show his bio.

  6. If you remember the second slide, to get back to the Board Members page you go to the navigation bar and click on the words Board Members. If you want to return to the Home page simply click on the words Home on the navigation bar

  7. By clicking on the words Join Us you will be taken to the application page.

  8. By click on on the words in Blue the and application will appear. Simply print it off and send it in.

  9. Click on the words Current Issues, and you will Be taken to the Current Issues page where we look at current issues “Under the Microscope.”

  10. You can see the Council’s work on the listed items by clicking on one of the underline phrases. As the name Current Issues implies these subjects will change with time so check back often. These subjects don’t disappear. Once resolved they are moved to our Library.

  11. To find out more about us and what we stand for click on the words About Us and you will be take to that page.

  12. You will notice that on this page the are several underlined words, these are called hyperlinks. Clicking on the underlined word will take you to that page. In this case clicking on the word Charter will take you to our Charter.

  13. The Key Links page provides you with links to our greater community. Click on the words Key Links to go to this page.

  14. By clicking on the words Our Library, you will be taken to Our Library.

  15. The is also an ever evolving page. It is here we “store” past investigated subjects for your review. In this example we clicked on the Georgetown Citizen Academy.

  16. What we have done with the City’s permission is put all of the Academy’s presentations on our site for your review.

  17. By clicking on Council Committees, you will be taken to the committee page.

  18. Again you will note there are underlined words (hyperlinks). In the example we clicked on the words click here in the communications committee.

  19. Now if you need to contact us or you would like to sign up for our news letter, simply click on the words Contact Us in the top right hand corner or the words Click Here in the bottom right hand corner
