Funding Opportunities for Roads Annual Call, Priority 1: to accelerate/facilitate the implementation of TEN-T projects, including studies and works formature projects for all modes, namely rail, inland waterways, maritime, road and multi-modal, as part of the projects of common interest, in accordance with Article 7 of the TEN-T Guidelines. Notes: - Actions including sections on any priority project, in accordance with art. 23 of the TEN-T Guidelines may not be supported under this priority. - Multi-Annual Call: Priority Projects which concern Roads (7, 12, 13, 25)

Objective of Multi-Annual Call Priority 1 The programme aims at channelling Union aid at supporting sections of priority projects (in the rail, road and inland waterway sectors) which promise the highest EU added value for the projects as a whole, i.e. cross-border sections and the removal of bottlenecks

  4. Types of Projects • Studies aiming at: • creation of a mature project pipeline for 2014 and beyond; • acceleration of the implementation of projects (e.g. environmental studies/design studies versus feasibility studies) and leading to physical implementation • Works for mature projects to be completed by 2015, where the EU added value is clearly demonstrated

  5. Objective of Annual Call Support the development of roads as a component of an integrated transport system Works projects to be selected shall include at least one of the following aspects: • cross-border sections or in the case of Member States without a rail network, bottlenecks or missing links; • safety and security measures (including development of safe rest areas for professional drivers); • integration strategies with other ‘lower’ carbon transport infrastructure.
