The Need • Farmers depending on Nature & Government. • Far from Outreach of Any Government Infrastructure • Small Land Holding, Debts, Illiteracy, Poverty • No Buffer for Experiments • Water illiteracy • Traditional Cropping Patterns -Meager income • Lack of Healthy Animal Husbandry • Poor Natural Resources Awareness.

Bhagirath L&WMP: Achievements Cropping Pattern: • Increase in Cotton & Maize Yield • Introduction of Ginger/ Turmeric crops to the vicinity • Bumper yield of Garlic, Onion and Turmeric by ‘raised bed’. • Gram cultivation instead of Wheat. • Vegetable in Shed Nets Successful Addressing of Local Issues: • Cotton in water logged soil- broad Raised Bed & drip irrigation. • Castor as wind break - “Lalya” outbreak delayed! • Control over Mealy Bugs Outbreak by IPM
