Regional Workshop for Preparing the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development

This workshop, held on 7-8 May 2004 in Rabat, focused on developing the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD). Participants reviewed past efforts, including the Barcelona Workshop and the 8th MCSD context, while addressing challenges in governance, poverty, inequality, and ecological problems. The workshop aimed to create a multidisciplinary approach to establish realistic, measurable targets for sustainable development emphasizing water, energy, transport, tourism, and urban management, promoting regional cooperation and stakeholder involvement for effective implementation.
