  3. Nitrogen-fixed bacteria • The nitrogen from the atmosphere turns into a compound of nitrogen and hydrogen

  4. Plants • The plants produce bacteria so the decomposers give out nitrogen • The nitrogen then helps the plants grow

  5. Animals • Animals produce nutrients for the soil that helps the plants grow • Then the decomposers get eaten by bacteria from the plants

  6. Decomposers • The decomposers break down from the bacteria that plants produce • Then they give off nitrogen
