  2. Purpose Assist federal, state, and local officials use and manage Strategic National Stockpile life-saving pharmaceuticals and medical supplies that will be received in a public health emergency in which local supplies have been or may be depleted

Course Overview • Overview of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) program • SNS Formulary of Medical Supplies, Equipment, and Pharmaceuticals • Planning for SNS Operations • Integrating a SNS Response and Leveraging Support • Requesting and Managing SNS Assets • Exercising and Evaluating a SNS Response Plan • Dispensing Medical Countermeasures (MCM)

Learning Objectives • When participants complete this course, they will be able to: • describe special considerations involved in preparing for a large-scale public health event in which SNS assets would be required • identify critical personnel and infrastructure involved in SNS response operations • explain processes for ensuring an SNS plan’s components will function during an incident response

  8. Day Three • Requesting SNS Assets • SNS Exercise Design, Development, and Execution • DSNS / DSLR Training Courses Brief • Mass Dispensing Operations • Post 48-hour Questions and Operations • POD Site Responsibilities and Setup

  9. Day Four • POD Roles, Responsibilities, and Setup • Queue Management • Closed POD Planning • Volunteer Staffing • Legal Considerations for Volunteers • RealOpt for Points of Dispensing (PODs) Demonstration
