  1. Do You Think You Have Eosinophilic Asthma? Here Are A Few Tests To Know For Sure

  2. Even though the medical facilities have evolved leaps and bounds, there are only a few things to be known aboutsevereeosinophilic asthma. According to the research conducted by various doctors worldwide, eosinophilic asthma is a type of asthma or a sub-type of asthma that shows an increased level of symptoms of regular, normal asthma. In other words, if a person has eosinophilic asthma, then they are likely to face symptoms, such as inflammation, shortness of breath, wheezing, etc.

  3. Even though there’s no particular reason why this form of the disease occurs in a human being, there are a few studies regarding this sphere. So, as per the studies conducted, we have seen that a person who has eosinophilic asthma has an increased level of eosinophils in their body.

  4. On this note, it’s worth adding that eosinophils are a type of white blood cell that attacks harmful viruses and bacteria in our body and keeps us safe from them. However, if the amount of eosinophil is elevated in our blood, it can have an adverse effect. For example, if a person already has asthma, then the symptoms will likely become severer. The most common symptoms of EA are inflammation and shortness of breath.

  5. Is It Tough To Diagnose This Disease? • It is a bit tough to diagnose this disease simply because there’s a lack of definite symptoms. However, there are a few symptoms out there that are somewhat identical to normal asthma. This is the reason why eosinophilic asthma is a bit tough to diagnose. However, if you follow easthma, you will see many symptoms of eosinophilic asthma, such as cough, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, inflammation, etc. So, if you are noticing such symptoms, then it’s time to go to a doctor for a check-up.

  6. What Are The Tests That A Doctor May Suggest? • In order to diagnose whether you have Severe eosinophilic asthma or not, a doctor may prescribe a lot of tests. Then, after going through the details of symptoms, they will perform a physical check-up. For example, they will check the breathing and look for a few common symptoms to people with eosinophilic asthma, like swelling in the nose and sinuses, growth in the sinuses or nasal polyps, or even middle ear infections.

  7. Once they are done with a physical check-up, they might suggest blood tests like an eosinophils blood test. This is because if you have eosinophilic asthma, then the level of eosinophil in blood should be higher than usual.

  8. Apart from a physical check-up and blood test, a doctor might suggest a sputum induction test where you need to cough up mucus which will be taken as a sample. In severe cases, a doctor may also prescribe bronchial biopsy, which can also provide some clues.

  9. Final Thoughts: • All in all, we can see that eosinophilic asthma is a disease that can frustrate a patient. However, after performing tests like eosinophils blood test, bronchial biopsy, sputum induction, a doctor might diagnose the disease.
