Basketball Star Antetokounmpo Signs Deal with Meta’s Whatsapp Basketball Star Deal with Metas Whatsapp1 e1645437826573 Giannis Antetokounmpo, the NBA star, has signed up a long-term deal with Meta’s messaging service, WhatsApp, to promote the brand globally. As per Bloomberg news, this is the first WhatsApp deal for celebrity endorsement since its inception. WhatsApp Executives plans to work closely with Antetokounmpo regarding events, community outreach, and content, beginning with the All-star Game of NBA in Cleveland on Sunday evening. The details of the financial deal were not disclosed.

  2. In an interview, Antetokounmpo said that he used the WhatsApp app daily, and his decisions make him happy at the end of the day. One of the best basketball players in the international circuit, Antetokounmpo, was born in Greece with Nigerian parental lineage. WhatsApp has two billion-plus users globally and competes with iMessage from Apple Inc. and Google Messages. It is now the number one messaging service in India and Brazil. Last month, WhatsApp services boosted the sports marketing this year with its first advertisement that featured NFL playoffs. Antetokounmpo has had several major sponsors under his belt since drafted into the basketball circuit in 2013. He has promoted the JBL headphones and appeared in ads for Hulu Streaming Services owned by Walt Disney. He was signed for a long-term deal by Nike in 2017, where he has a signature line of sneakers in his name for the largest athletic shoes in the world. In recent years, the basketball star has been making his investments, putting money in Ready Nutrition, a sports health drink starts up and a Watch box, a watch marketplace. Antetokounmpo has a minority stake in Milwaukee’s baseball team, Brewer’s, which he acquired last year.Antetokounmpo’s first step towards the process is that he hopes to own an NBA team someday. Antetokounmpo says that it is hard for him to manage so many things together, and he is getting involved in something he had never imagined he would get into before.
