  1. UBFWIT A tour of UBFWIT: UBFoundation Web Interface for Transactions • How University staff use UBFWIT • How University web sites use UBFWIT

  2. How University staff use UBFWIT Getting Set Up Before a staff member can use UBFWIT to process credit cards, they must know their UB IT Name and password. Information on the UB IT Name can be found at: http://cit-helpdesk.buffalo.edu/services/faq/account.shtml#1.1.1 After the UB IT Name is determined, staff can call the UB Foundation for access to use UBFWIT. Once they are given permission in the system, they are ready to use UBFWIT. Instructions for staff to process credit cards using UBFWIT can be found on the UB Foundation’s web site.

  3. How University staff use UBFWIT Staff that are authorized to use UBFWIT can go directly to http://www.ubfoundation.buffalo.edu/ubfwit/ with their web browser OR they can visit the “Revenues and Accounts Receivable” area of the UB Foundation web site and access UBFWIT from there. Upon entry, they must enter their UB IT name and password.

  4. How University staff use UBFWIT Processing a credit card transaction: Once logged in, staff see this form Staff can select only from the UBF Account Numbers for which they have been given access. They fill out the form with all data pertinent to the charge. If they need to receive a copy of the confirmation email from Authorize.net, they simple select yes. Their email address is there by default, but they may change it.

  5. How University staff use UBFWIT Processing a credit card transaction: The form is filled out and then staff is transferred to the UB Foundations Secure Server to enter the credit card information. They are notified immediately if the card was approved or denied and then they can continue processing more charges.

  6. How University web sites use UBFWIT Getting Set Up A University unit or department with a UB Foundation account (or multiple accounts) wishing to take credit cards on their web site can access documentation on what is required to integrate a web site with UBFWIT. This documentation is available at: http://www.ubfoundation.buffalo.edu/forms/UBFWIT_Web_Setup.doc

  7. How University web sites use UBFWIT Getting Set Up If they determine that they have meet the technical requirements to integrate with UBFWIT, the University unit or department goes to the UB Foundation’s Web site to get an application for site setup at: http://www.ubfoundation.buffalo.edu/forms/UBFWIT_Web_Setup.doc

  8. How University web sites use UBFWIT Integrating a web site with UBFWIT: Integrating a web site is very similar to the set up of the web site that staff use to manually process charges: The form that resides on the UB Foundation’s secure server will have the same look and feel as the University Unit or Department web site University Unit or Department web site collects information from customer then passes to UBFWIT to securely process the credit card. University Unit or Department web site receives a response from UBFWIT and responds to the customer.

  9. UBFWIT That’s it for our tour. For more information, please visit the UB Foundation’s web site at: http://www.ubfoundation.buffalo.edu/ Thank You!
