Now What? • You are going to stand up, hold your paper high in the air  • With hand high in the air find someone…give them a high five..student with shortest hair shares first • Keep walking when done…hand high in the air means you are ready for next student….student with the largest feet speaks first….repeat….third student with birthday earliest in the year • This takes about 5 minutes • When you hear the signal, sit down  Then…

  12. Welcome! • I am looking forward to being your Band 7teacher this year • I am a veteran teacher with over 30 years experience • Outside of class I go to workshops, conferences, in-service meetings, put on classes for teachers; mentor/support university students

  13. Most important – I love to teach! • I enjoy teaching MUSIC and I am proud to be a teacher. • So you can relax. You are in good hands this year with me.

  28. What to think about? • Do you like the sound of the instrument? • Does the instrument suit YOU physically? (length of arms, height, hand size, finger pads cover holes? Braces – much more work and time for brass…can be done….committment • Future goals (doubling, changing?) • Your background in music…experienced to little experience makes a difference with more difficult instruments • Availability • Expense…we do have some instruments at KLO
