    1. Mater and Energy The interactions between matter and energy in solar, weather, and ocean systems are complex. These interactions may be addressed separately or jointly. For instance, a question may refer to an interaction involving the sun and the ocean but not refer to the weather. “Unbundling” these concepts is necessary for students to understand the parts of the whole.
