  2. ¿Recuerdas? • When the first verb in the sentence expresses uncertainty, you often put the second verb in the subjunctive. • Ex. Quiero que estudies para el examen. (yo) quiero (tú) estudies Indicative Subjunctive I want you to study for the test but I’m not certain that you will do it. note

  3. ¿Recuerdas? • When the first verb in the sentence expresses certainty, you often put the second verb in the Infinitive. • Ex. No quierotomar la foto. Indicative Infinitive There’s no doubt that I don’t want to take the picture. note

  4. ¿Recuerdas? • Ex. Quiero que saques la basura. (yo)quiero (tú)saques IndicativeSubjunctive • If the subject of the first verb is different from the subject of the second verb, the first verb will be in the indicative (present tense) form where as the second one will be in the subjunctive form.

  5. ¿Recuerdas? • If the subject of the first verb is the same as that of the second verb, then the second verb stays in the infinitive form. • Ex. Quierover más de la ciudad. • I want to see more of the city. • Quiero  indicative • Ver  infinitive
